Menards Moving and Storage: 322+ Federal Complaints, a Reincarnated Carrier, and a Broker That Blames Everyone Else

Menards Moving & Storage LLC (DOT 4072455, MC 1547461) is a household goods broker registered at 6801 Lake Worth Road, Suite 323, Greenacres, FL 33467. It operates zero trucks and employs zero drivers. Its phone number is (561) 398-2280. Its website is menardsmoving.com.

Menards has accumulated 322+ complaints in the FMCSA National Consumer Complaint Database. 188 of those complaints were filed in 2026 through July 31 alone. At its current trajectory, Menards will end 2026 with more complaints than Safe Ship Moving Services, currently the most-complained company in the FMCSA database.

Hostage goods complaints are accelerating fastest: 8 (2024), 20 (2025), 38 (2026 through 7/31). Estimates/Final Charges complaints follow the same curve: 33 (2024), 58 (2025), 94 (2026 through 7/31).

This is the steepest complaint acceleration Trunk has documented for any company in the FMCSA database. The company is generating complaints faster than any other broker or carrier we track.

Menards dispatched consumer moves to Handle With Care Moving and Transportation (DOT 3190967, Tucker, GA), a carrier whose FMCSA authority was revoked three separate times: 2021, 2022, and March 30, 2026.

Five days before the third revocation, JCS Moving and Storage was registered by the same incorporator, with the same employees, dispatched by the same Florida broker: Menards. A retired transportation attorney notified FMCSA of the reincarnation twice (June 19 and July 1, 2026), providing the complete documentation. FMCSA's Commercial Enforcement and Investigations unit responded with an automated message directing him to file a consumer complaint on NCCDB.

JCS continued to operate and accumulated 20+ complaints in its first four months.

Hostage situations: At least one documented case where belongings were withheld until additional payment.

Tripled charges: A consumer was charged for 919 cubic feet when only approximately 295 cubic feet were loaded, representing 3x overbilling.

Cash demands: Drivers collected cash at pickup.

Medically necessary items withheld: Items for a disabled child were withheld at delivery until additional payment was made.

The owner, identified as 'Mr. Menard Jr.,' demanded a consumer remove negative Facebook posts as a condition for returning belongings. The consumer removed the posts. The belongings were still not returned.

When a consumer representative filed a formal complaint documenting $44,966 in damages, Menards responded with a cease and desist letter against the representative rather than addressing the damages.

Handle With Care Moving (DOT 3190967): Authority revoked three times. Reincarnated as JCS Moving and Storage.

JCS Moving and Storage LLC (USDOT 4526003, Villa Rica GA): The successor to Handle With Care. In August 2026, a consumer named Jamie traced the full pipeline: Budget Van Lines (lead generator) sold to Menards (broker), who dispatched to JCS (carrier). Daijuan Mathews arrived in an unmarked Budget rental truck with no USDOT number. Someone else's belongings were already on the truck. Price jumped from $8,310 to $13,656. Consumer's 13 firearms are now held at an erosion control warehouse in Trimble, Missouri. Omar from JCS will not respond to communications. Immaculate Moving LLC (USDOT 4569424, Canton OH): 66.7% driver out-of-service rate. Foreman Shay Levi named in a consumer complaint where 1/3 of belongings were held back due to 'lack of space.' Over a month later, neither Menards nor Immaculate would disclose the location of the remaining items.

Loyal Moving and Storage: License revoked 22 days after picking up a consumer's move brokered by Menards.

Budget Van Lines (DOT 2233611): Identified as a lead generator that feeds consumers to Menards without disclosing the brokering relationship.

When consumers complain, Menards and its assigned carriers blame each other. Neither resolves the overcharges. The consumer is caught between a broker that says 'talk to the carrier' and a carrier that says 'talk to the broker.'

Joseph Henry Menard Jr. does not operate only Menards Moving and Storage. FMCSA registration data and consumer advocate research reveal a network of entities across three states:

Bridgeview Van Lines LLC (DOT 3999327, Greenacres FL): Registered to Joseph Henry Menard Jr. at the same address as Menards Moving: 6801 Lake Worth Rd, Suite 323, Greenacres FL. Authority status: Authorized. 1 truck. Bridgeview is not a dormant successor. It is a full-scale operation running from the same Suite 323 as Menards. BBB lists its business start date as December 13, 2022. BBB itself identifies Menards Moving and Storage LLC as a Related Business on Bridgeview's profile. Bridgeview has a C- BBB rating with 34 complaints, 167 customer reviews (4.15 average, though multiple reviewers state that all the 5-star reviews are fake), and is NOT BBB accredited.

The 1-star reviews describe the identical Menards playbook: estimates doubled or tripled at pickup (one consumer quoted $2,320 was charged nearly $14,000), elderly consumers targeted and manipulated, cash-only demands, items missing at delivery (electric bike, grill, paddle board), belongings stored in flooded units, months-long delivery delays, communication cutoff after booking, and no paperwork provided. One reviewer noted: Several other moving companies had warned me about Bridgeview. Another stated: all the 5 stars reviews are fake. Made up with generic language.

Menard has been running both entities simultaneously from the same suite, accumulating 322+ complaints under Menards and 34 under Bridgeview. Combined: 356+ complaints from one person in one office. If Menards shuts down (which an industry source reports is happening due to sustained pressure), Bridgeview continues seamlessly with a clean record.

C&J Trucking and Storage LLC (DOT 3826846, Jupiter FL): Registered to Joseph Henry Menard Jr. 1 truck. Identified by a consumer advocate and BrokerSnapshot.com as an alias or shell company for the Menards operation.

Regal Van Lines LLC (DOT 3993039, Greenacres FL): DOT-licensed broker at 6801 Lake Worth Rd Suite 320, the same building as Menards (Suite 323) and Bridgeview/C&J (Suite 253). Zero fleet, zero drivers, no safety rating. A fourth entity in the same building.

Florida corporate filings reveal an additional layer: Bridgeview Van Lines LLC is the registered agent for C&J Trucking and Storage LLC (SunBiz L22000068079). Menard used one of his own companies as the legal agent for another. The address for C&J was changed on 04/30/2025 to Suite 253 at 6801 Lake Worth Rd, the same suite as Bridgeview.

D&M Signature Freight LLC (DOT 4440814, McDonough GA): Registered to Fadya Menard. 2 trucks. Georgia-based entity connected to the Menard family.

Manard Transfer Service LLC (DOT 2919311, Ellicott City MD): Registered to Reggens Menard. 1 truck. Maryland-based family entity.

The pattern is familiar: one principal operating multiple DOTs across multiple states, with a successor entity at the same address ready to absorb the operation when the primary entity accumulates too many complaints. This is the same pattern documented in the Handle With Care to JCS chameleon case, except here the successor (Bridgeview) is already registered and authorized before the primary (Menards) has officially shut down.

An industry source reports that Menards is shutting down due to sustained pressure from complaint documentation, media attention, and consumer advocacy. If so, consumers should be aware that Bridgeview Van Lines LLC at the same Greenacres FL address is operated by the same person.

Menards is now accumulating lawsuits. Three are documented:

O'Sullivan v. Menards (Palm Beach County, FL, April 2026): A consumer sued to recover a $1,077 deposit. During the litigation, the contract's penalty provisions came to light. Menards' contract contains a $10,000 liquidated damages clause for consumers who file credit card chargebacks, and a $250,000 clause for 'contractual violations.' These clauses are designed to deter consumers from exercising their strongest remedy.

Wilkerson/Taslim v. Menards (S.D. FL, November 2025): Federal lawsuit.

Kolodge v. Menards (S.D. FL, dismissed with prejudice September 2025).

The $10,000 chargeback penalty clause deserves attention. Liquidated damages provisions must be a reasonable estimate of actual harm to be enforceable. A $10,000 penalty for disputing a $1,077 deposit is not a reasonable estimate of harm. It is a penalty clause designed to intimidate consumers who do not know the difference. Courts routinely strike down penalty clauses that bear no relationship to actual damages. Consumers should not let this clause deter them from filing legitimate chargebacks.

Menards' contract also contains a survey waiver that a retired transportation attorney has identified as potentially non-compliant with 49 CFR 371.113. The regulation requires specific formatting and disclosure. The waiver in Menards' contract allegedly uses the wrong typeface and is buried within the broader contract rather than presented as a standalone disclosure.

As of September 25, 2026, Menards' website carrier list (menardsmoving.com) contains only seven authorized carriers:

Notably absent from the list: JCS Moving and Storage, the documented Handle With Care chameleon carrier with 47+ complaints. Loadrans, the carrier in the Petrucci case that pressured a consumer on jurisdiction and filing deadlines. Immaculate Moving, the Canton, Ohio carrier with a 66.7% driver out-of-service rate that recently sent Trunk a content removal request.

The question is whether Menards has actually severed these dispatch relationships or simply removed the names from the public-facing list. Removing a carrier from a website is not the same as stopping dispatches to it. Consumers should ask Menards which specific carrier will be assigned to their move and verify that carrier independently at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov before moving day.

In October 2026, a consumer (Kelly G.) submitted the most detailed Menards complaint Trunk has received, including the original binding estimate, the revised estimate, the Bill of Lading, bank dispute confirmations, and phone records.

The timeline documents the bait-and-switch to the minute:

May 15: Carson Perkins quoted $2,245.65 for a 476 cubic foot move from Indiana to North Carolina. He explicitly promised no stair or elevator fees and a logistics call 5 days before the move.

June 10: No logistics call. A text from 219-300-1372 said someone would call over the weekend.

June 14, 8:23 PM: The night before the scheduled move, a representative named Mia Matthews called from the same number. During a two-hour call, she forced a re-inventory and inflated the total to $3,487.25, adding charges Carson had promised would not exist, including stairs and increased fuel.

June 16 (pickup day): The JCS Moving crew arrived and refused to load, claiming they had not been paid and refusing to walk stairs. They abandoned the property entirely. After an hour of calls between Menards customer service and JCS dispatch, the crew returned. The consumer's daughter paid $1,010 in cash.

As of October 9, 2026, it has been 80 business days since pickup. The 45-business-day contractual delivery window expired on August 21. The consumer has called repeatedly. Customer service representatives Janell, Sally, and assistant manager Antonio all confirmed JCS Moving as the carrier but could not provide a delivery date or the physical location of the belongings. Sally stated that because Menards is 'just the broker,' they do not possess the warehouse address.

The consumer sent certified letters to both Menards and JCS Moving. The JCS address turned out to be entirely vacant. No return receipts were received. All three JCS phone numbers disconnect: one goes to auto-disconnecting voicemail, one to a busy tone, one to dead air.

The consumer filed a bank dispute with Chase. Chase issued a $971.16 temporary credit. Menards did not respond to the dispute.

The Menards contract (now in Trunk's evidence archive with personal information redacted) contains 26 clauses. Beyond the $10,000 chargeback penalty and $250,000 damages clause previously documented, the full contract reveals additional predatory provisions:

Section 8 requires consumers to 'expressly waive, to the fullest extent permitted by law, any right to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute for any reason, including but not limited to fraud, services not rendered, or services not provided as agreed.'

Section 20 states that refusing service, verbally or in person, is treated as a late cancellation with no refund.

Section 21 states that Menards 'is not required to provide proof of service denial' and 'will not provide proof.'

Section 22 is a non-disparagement clause: 'Defamation, vilification, or traducing the company will result in forfeiture of the deposit and claims.'

Section 25 imposes a '$10,000 USD fine payable to Menards Moving and Storage LLC' for 'defamation via social media or other public forums.'

These clauses, taken together, create a contract that prohibits the consumer from disputing charges, prohibits public complaints, does not require Menards to prove it performed services, and threatens six-figure damages for noncompliance. The contract governs a $2,245 household move.

In October 2026, a community tipster alerted Trunk that a new company called I-95 Moving LLC was operating out of Delray Beach, Florida at 500 Gulfstream Boulevard, Suite 205.

A retired transportation attorney verified the entity through Florida SunBiz and FMCSA Motus records. I-95 Moving LLC was organized by Joseph Henry Menard Jr. and received FMCSA broker authority in August 2026. The SunBiz registered agent is Richard Pyke, the same registered agent as Menards Moving and Storage LLC. Motus lists Forest Bates as Director of Operations.

The I-95 Moving website (i-95moving.com) claims '15,000+ long distance moves' despite the company being authorized for only two months. It also displays customer reviews for local moves, though it does not hold a Florida intrastate license.

This makes at least four Menard entities documented by Trunk:

1. Menards Moving and Storage LLC (DOT 4072455, Greenacres FL): 322+ NCCDB complaints. Reportedly shutting down. 2. Bridgeview Van Lines LLC (DOT 3999327, Greenacres FL): Same address, same owner. 34 BBB complaints. Already authorized as successor. 3. I-95 Moving LLC (Delray Beach FL): New entity, authorized August 2026. Same registered agent as Menards. 4. C&J Trucking and Storage LLC (DOT 3826846, Jupiter FL): Menard entity, Bridgeview is its registered agent.

Plus Regal Van Lines LLC (DOT 3993039) in the same Lake Worth Road building.

The pattern is now in its third documented iteration. A Menard entity accumulates hundreds of complaints. A successor entity with the same principal, same registered agent, and a clean complaint record is already authorized before the first entity shuts down. Consumers searching FMCSA for the new company name will find zero complaints. The operator behind it has 356+ complaints across his other entities.

1. Menards is a broker. It owns no trucks. A different company will move your belongings.

2. Ask which carrier will be assigned. Look up that carrier at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov before your move date.

3. Do not accept cash-only payment demands. Legitimate carriers accept credit cards or checks.

4. Do not remove social media posts about your experience in exchange for promises. Document everything.

5. If your belongings are held hostage, call local police and file a complaint at nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov. Hostage loads are a federal violation (49 USC 14915).

6. File billing disputes within 180 days of delivery (49 USC 13710(a)(3)(B)).
