Every mover profiled on Trunk is checked against eleven independent sources: FMCSA SAFER (federal registration, crash records, insurance filings), Google Reviews (rating and star distribution), BBB (complaint history and accreditation status), Yelp (including filtered reviews), Reddit community discussions, Facebook moving groups, Nextdoor neighborhood recommendations, MovingScam.com (the moving industry's longest-running independent consumer database), HomeMovingNow.com (regulatory and legal analysis), Surface Transportation Board and legal filings, and proprietary Trunk user-submitted reviews and complaints.

We add community intelligence from Reddit (654 mentions across 251 movers, capturing recommendations, warnings, and real pricing people share anonymously). We verify owner identity for 90 movers. We collect verified rate card pricing from 117 movers so consumers can see actual price spreads before calling anyone.

A mover with a 4.9 on Google but an F at the BBB and 3 FMCSA crashes gets flagged. A mover with a 4.2 on Google but zero crashes, zero complaints, and a MovingScam “recommended” status gets highlighted. The signal is in the combination, not in any single number.

Mover rankings are determined by data: Google rating, BBB complaints, FMCSA safety record, review patterns, and MovingScam status. No mover pays to appear higher in any list.

No lead selling. When a consumer contacts a mover through Trunk, that lead goes directly to the mover. We do not sell the same lead to multiple companies.

No affiliate commissions. We do not earn a percentage of the move. Our incentives are aligned with providing accurate data, not with steering consumers toward the highest bidder.
