| 5/5 | I just had Gentle Giant move our 2-bedroom apartment (plus full basement storage) and I honestly can't say enough good things about them. They handled the entire packing and moving process from start to finish, and the whole crew was absolutely phenomenal, extremely professional, on time, careful, and detail-oriented. I was able to leave the apartment completely and they packed up every single thing, labeled everything perfectly, and even cleaned up the place for me. A special shout-out to Chuck Howe, who was outstanding, incredibly professional, highly communicative the whole time. The rest of the crew (Erikas Padmanskis, Nick Barlow, Raphael Yunger, Andrei Grigori, Christian Jorgensen, and Chuck (Dragon)) were all fantastic too. It was a long day for the crew but they went above and beyond to make sure we got everything out of the old home and into the new home, even things I hadn't packed yet. They were very communicative the entire process, paid attention to small details, and not a thing was damaged in transit! We have worked with so many moving companies and Gentle Giant has been the best one yet. I would highly recommend them if you need help moving in the Boston area. | 4/5 | I loved my moving team and I will use them again. The only reason they get it instead of 5 stars is that 1) they applied insurance without asking me first and 2) they broke a piece of furniture and seemed like they tried to hide it (I found a broken piece of my bed placed near the bed in a spot I wouldn't notice it until they were gone but since I was with them, my handyman was able to fix it). So just be sure to check each piece carefully before signing off on the move. Overall the team was great and very nice and very thorough. | Cherie D | |

I was quoted for two movers and they showed up with three which led to an increase in price which was not true as it only took around 5 10 to be able to pull up in front of my building. When I called to express my frustration with the cost, I was told my credit card would be refunded $150 but it never was. It is completely ruined. I am now sleeping on my $4,500 mattress in a sink hole while dealing with these back spasms and pain from my neck to my ankles. I have changed my rating to a 1 but wish there was a zero rating. Ruined 1930s vintage armoire by breaking all four wheels off the armoire and smashing them in tiny bits. FIVE COLLEGE MOVERS ARE A PROFESSIONAL MOVING COMPANY VERY UNLIKE GENTLE GIANTS. If you don't want your belongings destroyed don't use gentle giants. We had a bug infestation because the packers packed their food garbage in a box and left it in the truck for a 10 day move cross-country. I still have furniture and possessions missing and this is 4 months later. Gentle Giant just gave up looking for the pieces and turned it over to the insurance company to settle. There are items of great sentimental value amongst the missing pieces, a priceless one-of-a-kind art sculpture has a broken toe. | 1/5 | My boyfriend and I moved in together recently and he used this company to move his things. His movers (this company) were asked to move my couch from the upstairs to the basement. My movers were able to easily move the couch into the house without an issue, no complaints about the door size. The first part of the small sectional fit no problem, but then these guys said there was no way to get the cushion corner through a BULKHEAD in the basement because they only had an inch of space and it might not fit. Update: came home from work to find that they took my dad's moving blanket and gave me an extremely hard time when I called to ask for it to be returned. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else who will actually move your furniture and not steal it or your belongings. | Erica Strickland | |
