Gentle Giant.

We used Gentle Giant to move to East Somerville, combining two households, one from East Arlington and one from Central Square Cambridge. They were reliable and the cost was reasonable.

Gentle Giant is very reliable and reputable. I was very, very happy with them. I paid a couple thousand for a full apartment to apartment move.

Moving in August is not cheap in Boston. If you have high end furniture, absolutely spend the extra money on Gentle Giant. I used to work for them and can attest to how well every crew member is trained.

We moved cross country twice (BOS to SF, SF to Maine) and just recently ME back to MA. If we had to do it over again, we'd use Gentle Giant for the cross-country move. The big company (United) just didn't care. We had massive delays. Gentle Giant remains the best around.

Gentle Giant is great, but pricey. First move where nothing got broken!

I use Gentle Giant often on a local level, but I'd hire them for a cross country move. I work with a lot of repeat customers of theirs, never hear anything bad.

Great experiences for 3 or 4 moves. Very professional and careful not to damage furniture, floors, paint. Worth the extra money for peace of mind, especially for hard-to-replace items.

I worked for them. Majority of jobs were high-end homes. Very well-trained at prepping furniture and packing. We were even required to run back to the truck. Worth it if you're concerned about damage.

Gentle Giant has expanded all over the eastern seaboard. They also have a white glove service if your stuff is spendy. Quality service but nowhere near cheap.

I loved my moving team and I will use them again. The only reason they get it instead of 5 stars is that 1) they applied insurance without asking me first and 2) they broke a piece of furniture and seemed like they tried to hide it (I found a broken piece of my bed placed near the bed in a spot I wouldn't notice it until they were gone but since I was with them, my handyman was able to fix it). So just be sure to check each piece carefully before signing off on the move. Overall the team was great and very nice and very thorough.

I have made several moves with GG and have always been happy with their service and responsiveness. 1 star off because they aren't cheap, although to be fair I did not price shop (given my previous satisfaction) and it was a cross-country move.

I was charged significantly more than what I was quoted. I was quoted for two movers and they showed up with three which led to an increase in price which was not true as it only took around 5 10 to be able to pull up in front of my building. When I called to express my frustration with the cost, I was told my credit card would be refunded $150 but it never was. All in all, I was satisfied with the service but pretty disappointed with the inflated price.

Unbelievable hidden fees. I would never hire them again. Horrible people to deal with. They hold your furniture/belongings in storage until you pay all their hidden fees. Not even worth the 1 star.

Crammed all of our items and did not take responsibility for their monstrous. Definitely do not use GG storage. I did when living abroad for several years, and had to throw away numerous treasured memories, valuable clothing and other items due to widespread black mould. Even priced, over rated, and terrible to deal with. Avoid.

I originally gave this company a 5 star rating but after unpacking my belongings that Gentle Giant packed very unprofessionally and stored unwrapped my 2 month old mattress vertically shifting the filler inside the mattress. It is completely ruined. I am now sleeping on my $4,500 mattress in a sink hole while dealing with these back spasms and pain from my neck to my ankles. I have changed my rating to a 1 but wish there was a zero rating. Ruined 1930s vintage armoire by breaking all four wheels off the armoire and smashing them in tiny bits. FIVE COLLEGE MOVERS ARE A PROFESSIONAL MOVING COMPANY VERY UNLIKE GENTLE GIANTS. If you don't want your belongings destroyed don't use gentle giants. They could care less about your belongings.

I have moved several times in my life. Local moves and cross-country too. Never have I ever had such an awful experience with a moving company. Furniture was broken, damaged, scratched and a piece of a table is carved out. We had a bug infestation because the packers packed their food garbage in a box and left it in the truck for a 10 day move cross-country. I still have furniture and possessions missing and this is 4 months later. Gentle Giant just gave up looking for the pieces and turned it over to the insurance company to settle. There are items of great sentimental value amongst the missing pieces, a priceless one-of-a-kind art sculpture has a broken toe. I could go on and on about the lack of professionalism and cavalier-ism shown by this company. They rate a ZERO in my book.

My boyfriend and I moved in together recently and he used this company to move his things. His movers (this company) were asked to move my couch from the upstairs to the basement. My movers were able to easily move the couch into the house without an issue, no complaints about the door size. The first part of the small sectional fit no problem, but then these guys said there was no way to get the cushion corner through a BULKHEAD in the basement because they only had an inch of space and it might not fit. Update: came home from work to find that they took my dad's moving blanket and gave me an extremely hard time when I called to ask for it to be returned. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else who will actually move your furniture and not steal it or your belongings.

Pickup and Delivery Didn't show up at time frame given. 1/2 a day late. Crew, head of group, was extraordinary, hard workers. Delivery crew left without closure, notice, unfinished delivery. Inventory items unmarked out at office most of time. Move Coordinator was excellent to work with.

My belongings were in Gentle Giants Somerville Storage Facility for five years, once or twice I visited them to check or manage the storage, they were extremely kind and helped me out sort my things or look for them. Lately when I decided to move my belongings from there, I was told that they had been moved, my container to Wilmington, MA. That was not so business-like of them and I feel they should have informed me before moving the container to another storage.

Dont use this company they hire young guys that steal. I paid them to move my stuff and it was only supposed to be 2 guys 4 hour late neither guy showed up and and he was left the movers were there by themselves. When I unpacked its stuff my expensive coats and sneakers and slides was gone. The jewelry is all gone and I will be filing a police report. When I called them they told me to say lose. Those TVs definitely up to no greed and stole my stuff and to sure rid not the first person they did. This lost its for the reparation of this worker.

Moving time much longer than quoted even with the extra helpers. Movers damaged multiple pieces of furniture and are now avoiding calls.

I've used Gentle Giant, they damaged all my stuff. They compensated me through insurance but it was such a headache to get things fixed for the amount of money I spent.
