How Victory Van Corporation Compares
Google Rating
People
Owner: David Marione (Exec VP), Mike Smith (CFO)
Allied agent in Alexandria. MC #128153. Website victorvan.com. Phone 703-751-5200. Do not confuse this company with Victory Van Lines. Victory Van's website created in 2010 states that it acquired Matthew Moving, a generally well-regarded fellow Allied agent located in Clarksburg MD. Victory Van Corp. has been praised by industry people, especially 'weem' (works for a mover in northeast MD). As of 11/10 it had a 'B+' BBB rating with 4 complaints over the past 36 months, all within the past 12 months, not excessive considering that it has 39 trucks according to protectyourmove.gov. The BBB commented that it did not have sufficient information about the company, hence the B+ (rather than A) rating. Its safety rating on safersys.org shows 3 enforcement cases in 2005 and 2007 where the company was fined. Also, as of 9/06 its overall quality score from the van line was only 4.21 out of 5 ('meets standards'). Reviews on MovingScam.com have been mixed. 'kgreen' gave Victory Van a rave review for her local move in Bethesda. She liked her sales rep (Jack Sullivan), who guaranteed the price and included full replacement value coverage, and the move was completed in fewer hours than expected. She lists quotes given by other companies she considered such as Beltway, Thomas AAA, Town and Country, and JK Moving. 'Arline' got a quote from them for her move to FL but went with McCollister's. 'victoryisuck' posted a bad report in 7/07 on his (apparently company-paid) move with Victory Van from VA to TX, complaining about the company's flimsy moving boxes and a very poor packing job. Many things arrived damaged. This could have been an isolated case of a bad packing crew.

| 5/5 | Victory did an incredible job moving all our belongings for Dallas to Florida, right when COVID shut down was starting to happen. We used them years ago when we moved from Florida to Philly, and both times they were on time and our things arrived on schedule. No hassle. Thanks Victory! | Louie Lopez | |
| 5/5 | We were extremely pleased with our Victory Van move. The coordination, estimating, pick up, delivery, and billing were flawless. There were no games or small print traps. We had a fantastic pick up and delivery team of Cory, Aaron, and Josh. Combined, they were an incredible team that was always pleasant to work with and treated our possessions with care. Outstanding! | Richard Magners | |
| 5/5 | I had a really great experience with Ron B. when he came to our home for an in-house estimate. He was professional, kind, and incredibly thorough. He took extra time to sit down with me after the estimate to talk through some of my concerns about the move. He answered all my questions and helped me feel more confident and prepared. | Karmen | |
| 1/5 | Victory Van is the world's WORST company — avoid them at all costs. We stored our 5-bedroom house's belongings with Victory for 11 years while we were overseas. In all, they were paid over $150,000 on this 'service'. On delivery, the crew badly mishandled several items, all captured photographically. Stink bugs crawled out of everything, including our beds. The insurance we paid for was 'Full Value Protection.' The claim documented 114 items either lost or damaged — including irreplaceable family heirlooms and very old English antiques. The value of our claim was $72,265. Insurer Vanliner wrote that they could be included in the settlement, but in the end she refused to honor that. We were forced to settle at $1,286. That is $54,049 less than the 'full value' we had claimed. | Rod MacAllister | |
| 1/5 | The packers arrived early but were 13 hours to pack a 2.5 bedroom home. Loading truck next morning was coming apart. The loaders were surprised by what we had to load — one made a comment that I truly didn't appreciate about our belongings. Packing was ABYSMAL job. Fragile things were put in the bottom of boxes with heavy things on top. Two TV's were damaged, multiple lamps, furniture, and countless other items were damaged. | Philip Bullock | |
| 1/5 | I would never go to this place nor get their service in the future. The front desk and the office staffs are rude and unprofessional. They asked me to come pick it up at 11am and delayed to release my paper for 30 minutes. No clear direction of how to navigate through this big building. | Suman Poudel |
