13 Firearms, a GPS Tracker, and an Erosion Control Warehouse: Inside JCS Moving and Storage

JCS Moving and Storage LLC (USDOT 4526003, Villa Rica, Georgia) is a carrier that appears at the end of a chain consumers never see coming. Two consumers who submitted complaints to Trunk in 2026 described the same pipeline: a broker sells the move, JCS shows up to load or receive the shipment, and then the company goes silent. One consumer placed a GPS tracker in the shipment. It led to an erosion control company in rural Missouri.

Two brokers have been documented feeding moves to JCS:

Menards Moving and Storage (USDOT 4072455, Greenacres FL): The most-complained HHG broker in the FMCSA database after Safe Ship, with 290+ federal complaints. A separate Trunk investigation documents the full Menard family network across three states.

AB Moving Services (USDOT 4094266, Cherry Hill NJ): Consumer Veronica F., a Department of Treasury employee, contracted with AB. AB assigned her move to JCS without disclosure. AB refused to return calls or confirm receipt of the Bill of Lading. The consumer could not find either company on the FMCSA website as described by the representatives.

A third entity, Budget Van Lines (DOT 2233611), has been identified as a lead generator that feeds consumers to Menards without disclosing the brokering relationship.

Jamie called Budget Van Lines to book a move from Wichita, KS to Mt Juliet, TN. Budget never disclosed that Menards was a broker. Menards quoted $8,310 for a 26-foot truck including packing. Jamie paid $4,072 as a deposit. At no point did anyone inform Jamie that Menards was a broker or name the carrier.

On moving day, Daijuan Mathews showed up in an unmarked Budget rental truck with no USDOT number. Someone else's belongings were already on the truck, limiting the space available. Daijuan eventually admitted he was a subcontractor "paid under the table" who "basically works for Menards."

The price jumped from $8,310 to $13,656. The movers did not pack remaining items and left pertinent belongings behind. Eight hours later the truck was gone.

On Friday, Jamie discovered JCS Moving and Storage was the actual carrier. Omar from JCS said delivery could take up to 30 days and sent a generic contract with "estimated delivery windows" of up to 35 business days.

Jamie placed a GPS tracker in the shipment. It showed the belongings at a building in Trimble, Missouri, off Highway 169, behind CCL Supply.

The building is owned by Northside Erosion Control, an erosion prevention company. The owner, Kenneth Westberg, took ownership of the building a few months prior. This is not a licensed moving storage facility. It is an industrial building in a rural area being used to store consumer household goods.

This location is notable for another reason. In September 2026, KMBC 9 Investigates reported that goods from the Howards Van Lines Leavenworth warehouse were being transferred to a new warehouse near Trimble along US Route 169. The geographic overlap between JCS storage and Howards storage transfers raises questions about shared infrastructure in the Trimble area.

Jamie's shipment includes 13 firearms. These firearms are now stored at an unlicensed facility operated by an erosion control company. The carrier is not responding to the consumer.

Interstate transport and storage of firearms is subject to federal regulation. The firearms are in the custody of a carrier that will not disclose their location or respond to communications, stored at a facility that has no connection to the moving industry. This situation implicates potential violations beyond moving fraud.

Veronica F., a Department of Treasury employee, entered a binding estimate with AB Moving Services on July 22. She provided detailed tape measurements and a complete inventory on a live call. She specifically asked whether the company outsourced moves. The representative, Curtis, said no and referenced the company's DOT number.

Days before the move, AB told Veronica the price would exceed the binding estimate. AB then assigned the move to JCS Moving and Storage without disclosing the carrier name on the contract. When Veronica asked for a Bill of Lading within the 3-day FMCSA requirement, she was told to "Google" full value protection from an outside market.

Thirty days after pickup, her items remain undelivered and held at an unknown location with accruing fees.

Both consumers reference a contact named Omar at JCS Moving and Storage. In Jamie's case, Omar said delivery could take 30 days and sent a generic contract with delivery windows of up to 35 business days. Omar has not responded to emails or phone calls from either consumer regarding shipment location or delivery dates.

The pattern of a single unresponsive contact handling all consumer communications is consistent with a small operation that relies on delay and nonresponse as a business strategy.

Daijuan Mathews loaded Jamie's belongings in an unmarked Budget rental truck with no USDOT number displayed. Federal law requires all interstate household goods carriers to display their USDOT number on the vehicle performing the transport.

Using an unmarked rental truck for interstate HHG transport is a federal violation. It also means the consumer has no way to verify the carrier's authority, insurance status, or identity by looking at the vehicle.

If you have been assigned to JCS Moving and Storage, know that multiple consumers have reported nondelivery and refusal to disclose shipment location.

File FMCSA complaints referencing both the broker and JCS (USDOT 4526003). If you have a GPS tracker in your shipment, provide the location to law enforcement.
