Went into binding estimate on 7/22. Gave AB Services a very specific item by item listing under DOT standardized listing with tape measurements on a detailed live call. Deposit paid. Govt discount provided. Consumer works for Dept of Treasury. Senior rep Curtis stated they also provide services for military relocations and kept referencing their DOT number. On 7/27, called asking for specific pickup date. At 6:30PM, was called and asked for additional money. Rep Kristen verbally assured Curtis was in error and the move would cost more, exceeding the binding estimate. Consumer had already cancelled POD #2 delivery, no time for re-delivery. Asked why BOL was not provided within 3 days per FMCSA regs. Told to find full protection coverage by Googling it since 60 cent value was their business standard. On 7/28, obtained additional coverage, emailed update to Kristen, noted could not find ABS as broker or JCS Moving Co as the assigned carrier on FMCSA website. No response. Rep Sierra insisted consumer execute standard BOL without edits, consumer declined. Called JCS Moving Co number on BOL, was told to email. No one at AB Services would return calls to confirm receipt of BOL. AB Services gave move to JCS Moving and Storage, a carrier with numerous complaints growing daily. To date, 30 days non-delivery of items held hostage at unknown location with accruing fees. Consumer filed complaints with FMCSA and seeking bank refund for deposit as fraud.
