The bookcase was cracked in several locations, the crown molding was broken off on the left side and completely missing on the right side. The owner Mr. Luis Cardenas, Jr., agreed to repair the bookcase, however he sent a general repair man and not an antique specialist. The repair man had (2) pieces of strip pine glued together as the repair for hardwood detailed molding! Once Mr Cardenas was notified, he informed me he would not honor the repair unless I obtained an appraisal — which would cost me over $500. | Bob Durant | |
