They Disappeared: 15 Moving Companies Went From High-Complaint to Zero. Where Did They Go?
These companies had 15 to 60 complaints in 2024. In 2025, they dropped to zero or near-zero. Were they shut down? Did they dissolve? Or did they reappear under a new name?
When a high-complaint moving company suddenly stops generating complaints, there are three possibilities:
1. FMCSA revoked their authority and they stopped operating. 2. They voluntarily dissolved and the people behind them left the industry. 3. They dissolved and the same people opened a new company under a different name.
Option 3 is the chameleon carrier pattern. It is the most common outcome. This article tracks 15 companies that went from high-complaint to zero and investigates what happened to each.
The Vanished
Extra Space Moving and Storage (DOT 3844523): 2024=20 complaints, 2025=0, 2026=0. FL-registered broker. Disappeared completely. FMCSA authority status and any connection to successor entities under investigation.
North American Moving Experts (DOT 3929365): 2024=24 complaints, 2025=0, 2026=0. Had 24 hostage load complaints across 2023-2024, then zero. The name mimics North American Van Lines, a legitimate van line with 1,333 trucks.
Venture Van Lines (DOT 3489855): 2024=17 complaints, 2025=0, 2026=0. 10 hostage loads across 2023-2024. Vanished.
My Move Price (DOT 4061142): 2024=16 complaints, 2025=1, 2026=0. Near-total disappearance.
Unted Choice Movers (DOT 3941385): 2024=22 complaints, 2025=2, 2026=1. Note the spelling: 'Unted' not 'United.' The deliberate misspelling is consistent with the name-squatting pattern documented across fraud networks. 15 hostage loads in 2023-2024.
Good Move USA Corporation (DOT 3097231): 2024=19 complaints, 2025=2, 2026=1. Dropped 89%.
Moving Nation Deliveries (DOT 3284433): 2024=26 complaints, 2025=4, 2026=0. Had 16 hostage loads across 2023-2024.
Allied Transportation Group (DOT 3691803): 2024=19 complaints, 2025=3, 2026=1. Name mimics Allied Van Lines.
Beacon Moving & Logistics (DOT 3844272): 2024=17 complaints, 2025=3, 2026=0. 11 hostage loads in 2023-2024.
United American Moving & Storage (DOT 3467807): 2024=25 complaints, 2025=5, 2026=0. Another 'United' + 'American' generic name.
United America Interstate Group (DOT 4013125): 2024=28 complaints, 2025=7, 2026=10. This one is coming BACK. After dropping 75% in 2025, complaints are rising again in 2026.
Arena Van Lines (DOT 3249356): 2024=18 complaints, 2025=6, 2026=0.
Atlas Mover Group (DOT 4086604): 2024=21 complaints, 2025=7, 2026=0. Lost a trademark lawsuit to Atlas Van Lines (default judgment, February 2025). Shared address with United Best Moving at 3312 Northside Dr, Macon GA.
M&R Expedite Mover and Storage (DOT 3848738): 2024=17 complaints, 2025=6, 2026=0.
3 Brothers Moving & Storage (DOT 3840883): 2024=60 complaints, 2025=25, 2026=0. The sharpest absolute decline: 60 to zero in two years. We know why this one disappeared: owners Ed and Robbyn Cannatelli were indicted by the DOJ for insurance fraud in April 2025 (S.D. Florida). They stopped operating as a broker. Their FMCSA license remains unaffected. A federal criminal indictment did not trigger an FMCSA authority revocation.
The Pattern
Several patterns emerge from the disappeared companies:
Generic names: 'United American,' 'Allied Transportation,' 'North American Moving Experts,' 'Good Move USA.' These names are designed to be confused with legitimate national carriers. They are also designed to be disposable.
High hostage load rates: Most of the vanished companies had disproportionate hostage load complaints relative to their total. North American Moving Experts had 24 hostage loads out of 24 total complaints in 2023-2024. Every complaint was a hostage load.
No public dissolution notices: FMCSA does not publish a list of companies that have been revoked, voluntarily surrendered authority, or dissolved. A consumer researching a company that has disappeared finds a SAFER record that may still show 'Authorized' status weeks or months after the company stopped operating.
Successor entities not identified: When a company disappears and a new company appears at the same address, with the same phone number, or with the same officer, FMCSA does not flag the connection. The new company starts with zero complaints.
What to Look For
If a company you are considering has zero complaints but was only registered in the last 12 months, check:
1. Does its address match any company on this list? Trunk's entity link analysis checks for shared addresses across all DOT numbers.
2. Does its phone number match? Shared phone numbers are the strongest signal of connected entities.
3. Does any officer or owner name match? Search the principal's name across Trunk's database.
4. Is its name suspiciously similar to a legitimate national carrier? 'North American Moving Experts' is not North American Van Lines. 'Allied Transportation Group' is not Allied Van Lines.
A company with zero complaints and zero history may be a new legitimate business. Or it may be the latest iteration of a disappeared company that generated 60 complaints under its previous name.
