A warehouse in Leavenworth, Kansas stores consumer belongings from multiple moving companies. The operator was identified in eviction court. The landlords can't get in. The consumers can't get their stuff. This is a live timeline.

At 501 Olive Street in Leavenworth, Kansas, a warehouse stores household goods belonging to consumers who hired moving companies hundreds or thousands of miles away. The consumers did not choose this warehouse. Most do not know their belongings are there. The warehouse is being evicted. The operator appeared in court and tried to misspell his own name.
The Warehouse
501 Olive Street, Leavenworth KS. The warehouse is leased by Logistic Moving Services LLC (DOT 4433059), an entity registered at 1800 Montreal Court, Tucker GA, the same building as Handle With Care Moving and Transportation LLC (DOT 3190967), a carrier whose FMCSA authority has been revoked three times.
The lease was signed by Jerry Whaley, a name that appears alongside the warehouse operator in a Change.org petition documenting a pattern of moving fraud across multiple company names.
The Operator
In August 2026, KMBC Kansas City's investigative team filmed the operator in Leavenworth County eviction court. He represented himself without an attorney. He tried to spell his last name with a D. The judge corrected it to a T.
The operator is Moran Eli Hasut (aliases: Elad Hasut, Eli Davis, Allan Davis). FMCSA records list him as the officer of Handle With Care Moving. Consumer complaints and public petitions connect him to Spirit Van Lines (Colorado), American Home Relocation, and David and Goliath Moving and Storage.
The Companies
Consumer belongings from at least three companies have been confirmed inside the warehouse:
Howards Vanlines Inc (DOT 4391903, Garfield NJ): 166 complaints from one registered truck. Registered September 2025.
JCS Moving and Storage LLC (DOT 4526003, Villa Rica GA): Reincarnation of Handle With Care. Registered five days before Handle With Care's third FMCSA revocation.
Menards Moving and Storage LLC (DOT 4072455, Greenacres FL): Florida broker with 290 complaints. Dispatches to Handle With Care, JCS, and Howards.
Timeline
September 2025: Howards Vanlines Inc registered with FMCSA. One truck.
March 30, 2026: Handle With Care Moving authority revoked for the third time.
April 2026: JCS Moving and Storage registered. Same employees as Handle With Care. Same broker (Menards).
May 2026: A retired transportation attorney sends enforcement request to FMCSA regarding Howards Vanlines (May 29).
June 2026: Same attorney sends two enforcement requests regarding the Handle With Care / JCS chameleon pattern (June 19 and July 1). FMCSA responds with an automated NCCDB complaint form link.
August 2026: Landlords Donald and Kelly Cline file eviction against Logistic Moving Services at 501 Olive Street, Leavenworth.
August 20, 2026: KMBC cameras capture Hasut in Leavenworth County eviction court. Same day, Howards sends a collections threat to a consumer who cancelled her booking, demanding $1,394.18.
August 21, 2026: KMBC publishes investigative report citing Trunk data. Landlord photographs bills of lading from inside the warehouse. Consumers are identified and contacted.
August 29, 2026: FMCSA confirms it has begun investigating Howards Vanlines. Investigators showed up at the company's registered address at 141 Lanza Ave, Garfield NJ and found a virtual office, not a bona fide office where records are kept. Consumers encouraged to resubmit complaints to FMCSA NJ Division (mcnjoff@dot.gov) and Eastern Service Center (ESCEnforcement@dot.gov).

What Consumers Should Do
If you hired Howards Vanlines, JCS Moving and Storage, Menards Moving and Storage, or Handle With Care Moving, and your belongings have not been delivered:
1. Your goods may be in the Leavenworth warehouse. Contact KMBC Kansas City's investigative team at investigates@kmbc.com if you believe your belongings are affected.
2. File a complaint with FMCSA at nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov.
3. File a report with the FBI at movingcompanyfraud@fbi.gov.
4. File a complaint with the Kansas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.

7. Contact your local police department AND the Leavenworth Police Department to file a theft report.
