Independent in Gaithersburg. VERY GOOD PERFORMER per MovingScam with at least 5 good reviews and no significant bad reviews posted on this website. DOT #418499. Phone 301-670-4600. In 5/08 it was fined by the FMCSA for a violation, but the nature of the violation is not listed. The owner (Kevin Bass) posted that he also owns Meridian Transportation Systems dba Meridian Movers, which he bought out of bankruptcy in 2004, and that sometimes customers get quotes from both Town & Country and Meridian. He said that he sublets warehouse space to Commonwealth Movers but does not own any part of that company. Town & Country estimated the weight high in a GNTE given to 'northbound' (moving to Maine), possibly because the estimate counted everything in case the customer decided to move it (he went with Matthew Moving). There is a good review of Town & Country by 'iigifes': 'saying that the price was low and the service at origin was good in his move from MD to IN. The main glitch was that there were not enough helpers at destination (a common problem for independents moving people interstate) and the customer and his family had to pitch in to help unload.' 'Ckimoo' (Kim) chose them over Von Paris for her parents' large move from DC to NC and posted a rave report. 'Topaz' posted a rave review of Town & Country for a local move in MD, she says friends had recommended them and Town & Country and JK Moving gave her lower quotes than Beltway did. 'KELLY8' gave Town & Country an excellent review for a move from Baltimore to Northern VA, they charged $130/hour for 3 workers and a truck. Someone gave Town & Country a rave review for a local move in 11/06, saying they came in below the estimate. 'Kmar' posted an excellent report on a move to Chicago in the summer of 2006, stating that they were not the lowest estimate, but reasonably priced, and they were 'fantastic'. 'peppy' posted in 6/07 that she had lots of friends who had used T&C for local moves and were very happy; she also said that T&C quoted her $180/hour for a local move, same as Commonwealth, whereas Moyer quoted $160/hour and Mighty Men $125/hour.

| 5/5 | I've now used Town & Country Movers twice, most recently on August 15, 2025, and both experiences were outstanding. The crew, Eduardo Gonzalez, Enrique Reyes, Hugo Amaya, and Alexander Hernandez, showed exactly what professionalism and accountability should look like. From the moment they arrived, they worked hard, stayed organized, and treated every item with genuine care. They were extremely attentive while handling furniture and boxes, making sure nothing was scratched, bumped, or rushed. | Salvatore Aleci | |
| 5/5 | I moved twice this year. I used Town and Country Movers both times. I was not disappointed. They moved my things into a storage facility in another state and then to my final home last week. They were one time and very polite, and friendly both times. Both moves were seamless for me despite logistical hurdles at my previous condo and several simultaneous move outs at the storage facility. I would highly recommend them. | Cottya Brown | |
| 5/5 | Town & Country movers turned a stressful move into an easy and seamless experience. We moved from Maryland to Delaware with a stop in between at a storage unit. Rene and his team were extremely kind, patient and courteous throughout the whole experience. They did a beautiful job of carefully packing up several pieces of artwork. They were organized and efficient. Rene was very personable and professional. | Cate Wigglesworth | |

| 1/5 | We are a repeat customer and the first long distance move from Diamonds, MD to Murrells Inlet was excellent. Unfortunately, our move from Murrells Inlet, SC to West Virginia was far from what we had expected. Our area rugs were rolled improperly and laid down with wrinkles that the crew did not fix, even when asked about it 3 times. The crew chief had only been working for 3-4 years and apparently not equipped with the expertise for a long distance move. He did not use the inventory sheet when delivering our items and there must have been 2 kitchen boxes missing. We have many missing kitchen items. | Cindy Vogle | |
| 1/5 | Beware. Go elsewhere. Town and Country are not the moving company you want. They do not stand behind damaging your items! Look at the fine print of your contract. Don't sign the moving slip, it will come back to bite you. Even if you get the insurance they don't want to pay for damages. They damaged brand new stairs and they are trying to say they did not. Sent them a bill for repairs that cost 3k. They did not pay it. | Stacye Daise | |
| 1/5 | Town & Country Movers just blocked my driveway with their truck today without a care in the world. They were doing a job at my neighbor's house and had plenty of room to pull their truck forward so it wouldn't block my driveway. The workers showed absolutely no concern. When I called the company they showed absolutely no concern as well and acted like since their truck was finally moved, it was no longer an issue. | Jason Labant |
