Consumer contracted with Safe Ship Moving Services (broker) and Top Rated Moving Van Lines LLC (carrier, NJ) for home and office move from Massachusetts to Florida. Carrier estimated cubic feet, then on moving day said there was not enough truck space for both home and office. Forced consumer to contract a second truck. When first truck arrived in FL, consumer measured cubic feet and found it was less than half of what driver claimed. Carrier inflated cubic footage to overcharge. Antique table center leaf and connecting hardware went missing and were never recovered. Two flat-screen TVs damaged. Consumer filed pro se federal lawsuit in Middle District of Florida for breach of contract, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, and conversion.
