Jake's Moving and Storage responded to my call quickly. John was very professional and booked a crew to come by that afternoon. They were very fast, careful with my belongings and professional. My biggest problem was I had to return the wardrobe boxes they recycled from me at pay $25 for each box! When they couldn't figure out how to fit a sofa through the doorway, instead of problem solving, they gave up and put the furniture in storage — charging $95 for storage plus $140 for the incompetence. We contacted Jake's about the situation and requested compensation for their failure to complete the job. They ignored multiple phone calls. When they finally responded, they were dismissive, bullying, and rude. Claimed they 'didn't do anything wrong.' Total cost for their incompetence: $520 ($80 storage + $140 incompetence). After paying a significant amount in moving, my wife and I were shocked to find that we still had to move a large portion of our belongings ourselves. We had specifically hired the company to pack and move all of our items — but they didn't have the capacity to complete the job, and no discount or meaningful resolution was offered. To make matters worse, once we arrived at our new home, the movers made us immediately unpack the wardrobe boxes they had just packed so they could take them back.
