Gold Standard Went Down. What Happened to the Other Three Abrams Companies?

Gold Standard Moving and Storage LLC (DOT 3422711) is one of the few cases where Florida Attorney General enforcement appears to have stopped a moving operation. The AG secured a consent judgment with a permanent injunction (Case CACE-22-017919, March 2025). Gold Standard's complaint history went from active to silent.

But Gold Standard was not Charles Abrams's only company. FMCSA records and Trunk's principals database link him to four DOT numbers. Gold Standard was just the one that got caught.

Charles Abrams is the registered principal on four FMCSA carrier registrations:

1. Gold Standard Moving and Storage LLC (DOT 3422711), Pompano Beach, FL. Fleet size: 0 trucks. Authority: Authorized. NCCDB complaints: 3 (1 in 2023, 2 in 2024). Subject of FL AG permanent injunction.

2. United American Moving LLC (DOT 3273640), Pompano Beach, FL. Fleet size: 0 trucks. Authority status: blank (no longer active). NCCDB complaints: 0.

3. Razor Van Lines LLC (DOT 3359128), Pompano Beach, FL. Fleet size: 0 trucks. Authority: Authorized. NCCDB complaints: 0.

4. Executive Van Lines LLC (DOT 3614569), Petersburg, FL. Fleet size: 0 trucks. Authority status: blank. NCCDB complaints: 2 (both in 2023).

All four companies report zero trucks. All were based in or near Pompano Beach (except Executive Van Lines, registered in Petersburg, FL). The principals table records Abrams's address as 1605 N Palmway, Lake Worth, FL 33460, and notes he operated '9+ companies' from 2700 W Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach.

The FL AG consent judgment (Case CACE-22-017919) was entered in March 2025 and included a permanent injunction. According to the principals database, this action was directed at Abrams's Gold Standard operation.

The critical question: did the permanent injunction cover Charles Abrams personally, or only the Gold Standard entity?

If the injunction is entity-specific, it prevents Gold Standard Moving and Storage LLC from operating. It does not prevent Charles Abrams from operating through United American Moving, Razor Van Lines, or Executive Van Lines.

If the injunction is personal, it bars Abrams from operating any moving company, regardless of the entity name.

The distinction matters. Entity-specific injunctions are the norm in AG enforcement actions, and they are the reason chameleon operators survive enforcement. Shut down one entity, and the operator registers another. The complaint history resets. The consumer search results come up clean.

United American Moving LLC (DOT 3273640) shows no active authority and zero complaints. It may have been inactive before or during the Gold Standard operation.

Razor Van Lines LLC (DOT 3359128) shows Authorized status with zero trucks and zero complaints. An authorized carrier with no trucks and no complaints could be dormant, or it could be a shell waiting to be activated. Authorized status means the company has met FMCSA's insurance requirements and can legally transport household goods.

Executive Van Lines LLC (DOT 3614569) shows no active authority and 2 complaints from 2023. The Petersburg, FL registration (separate from the Pompano Beach cluster) is notable. Geographic separation between related entities is a documented tactic in chameleon carrier operations.

Of the four, only Razor Van Lines currently holds active authority. It has never generated a complaint. That could mean it was never used. Or it could mean it has not been used yet.

The principals database notes that Abrams operated '9+ companies' from the same Pompano Beach address. We have identified four DOT numbers linked to his name. The remaining five or more companies are not yet mapped in our database.

Pompano Beach is not a random location. It is the historical center of South Florida moving fraud, home to operations connected to the DiSorbo network, Colonial Van Lines, and numerous chameleon carriers. The 2700 W Atlantic Blvd address, where Abrams reportedly operated multiple companies, is in the same commercial corridor where other high-complaint movers have maintained offices.

The concentration of moving companies at a single address, under a single operator, is a hallmark of the broker-to-carrier fraud model. The operator registers multiple entities, each with its own DOT number. Consumer complaints are distributed across the entities, keeping any single DOT number below the threshold that triggers regulatory attention.

Against Gold Standard Moving and Storage, enforcement worked. The complaint history stopped. The company appears to have ceased operations.

Against Charles Abrams, the question remains open. He has at least three other DOT numbers. One of them (Razor Van Lines) still holds active FMCSA authority. The principals record suggests he operated nine or more companies, most of which we have not yet identified.

This is the fundamental problem with entity-level enforcement in the moving industry. Companies are cheap to register. A new DOT number costs nothing. Insurance can be obtained through surplus carriers. The operator, not the entity, is the persistent threat.

The FL AG's action against Gold Standard was a success in the narrow sense. Gold Standard is done. But if Abrams can open another entity tomorrow, or activate Razor Van Lines next month, then the enforcement action shut a name, not a person.

Trunk tracks operators, not just companies. When we identify a principal linked to multiple DOT numbers, we track all of them. Because the question is never just 'Is this company safe?' The question is 'Who is behind this company, and what else have they operated?'
