MovingScam Status

RecommendedMovingScam Superlist

North American agent in Franklin, Hyannis, and Plymouth (also in Greenland, NH). VERY GOOD PERFORMER per MovingScam with at least 5 good reviews and no significant bad reviews as an origin agent. Website rainbowmovers.com. Phone 800-922-1020. As of 3/15/11 it had an 'A+' rating and 4 BBB complaints over the past 16 months. It was praised by 'East Coast Mover' (a long haul driver based in the Northeast now posting as 'I-95'). It was also recommended to a MovingScam moderator by a Wheaton driver in a Private Message as having good people and a nice, clean facility. 'Rick' (industry expert) posted that Rainbow is 'a good, solid company. . . . They wouldn't have been two time winners of the North American Van Lines Agent of the Year and three time winners of the Customer Quality Choice Award for best overall quality and service excellence if they weren't.' Reportedly the company is headed by Tim McInerney and other family members (Jim, Jon, and Erini) participate in the business. 'dara0287' decided to go with them for a move from Boston to Kansas City. Her estimator was Jim McInerney, who was praised by 'EastCoastMover.' 'korent' (real name Kyle) posted that Marathon was 'great' for his move in Jamaica Plain in 2006 and they also gave him a lower quote than from Gentle Giant for a move to DC in 1617-4300 for 1700 pounds. He later posted that he used them to move to DC and the move was 'awesome' with 'impeccable service' and they even refunded $300 of his money. Multiple rave reviews for interstate moves to San Francisco, Portland OR, Chicago, and more. 'johnnyMAO' gave Rainbow a rave review in 12/08 for a (self-hauled) large move to Raleigh. 'bostonmontague' posted an excellent report on her $207 move to Chicago. 'remit1' reported a good 1400 pound move booked by Rainbow to Portland OR in 7/07. Jim McInerney was helpful when he did the estimate. He chose Rainbow because it had a 1000 pound minimum, lower than other companies. 'Wreneast' reported problems with his move to Minnesota in 11/07 involving poor communication, late pickups, and no compensation for late delivery. Most disturbingly, the sales rep and the relocation manager apparently promised him things that they knew (or should have known) to be false.
