Hampden is a 100-year-old company owned and operated by the people who own Von Paris (United), but it still competes with Von Paris. It has the website hampdenmovingmd.com and the phone 410-893-6683. As of 3/7/11, it had 4 BBB complaints in the past 36 months, and an 'A+' rating. In 4/08 it was praised by 'bossxfan' (banking professional familiar with the industry). Somebody wrote in to ask about it and someone else answered anonymously that he/she had used it successfully for multiple moves. 'deborah' got a low phone estimate from Hampden for a move to Seattle but we don't know whether she used them. 'Riyada' chose them for her move to FL, including storage, and was very pleased: 'My personal favorite is Hampden, very professional, family business, located right here in Abingdon, VP called me last night personally to see if I had any further questions and invited me to come tour their storage facility.' She posted in 12/07 that the VP again helped her during pickup of the items. 'MOZa2' gave Hampden a very good report on a move to rural AZ in 10/08, praising especially the sales rep Mark. 'In 12/10, 'mikabess1' reported a very good experience with Hampden's sales rep and move coordinator on a move to TN, although a worker hired by the van line driver threw some of her boxes to the floor of the truck.
