Golden Gate Moving and Storage

Allied agent in Concord and Menlo Park. One of the companies recommended by the CMSA. 'PMueller' (working for Allied in FL) posted that Golden Gate did a good job for her office. As of 9/06, the Concord office had an overall quality score from the van line of 4.53 out of 5 (well up in the 'excellent' range) while the Menlo Park office had an overall score of 4.34 ('very good'), significantly lower. Just as an aside, in October 2005 Golden Gate was rated 'unsatisfactory' by the Oakland BBB. Now, in February 2006, it is rated 'satisfactory.' As of 10/13/10 had an 'A' rating with 0 complaints. 'BigLeeCalf' (used to work for Chipman United in Concord) posted that it is a very small agent. 'Moving to Long Island' (real name Barry) posted about problems trying to get his Golden Gate shipment reweighed. He was given some misinformation in the process. When they finally reweighed it, it weighed 500 pounds less than the company had originally told him, resulting in his being refunded some money. Although he said he was generally pleased with his move in spite of this, the problems he had may indicate some service quality issues with Golden Gate.
